a celebrated French poet of Pro vence. D. about 1190. Adhere', v. a. [Fr. adhérer.] To stick fast; to cleave to; as wax to the finger. -To be consistent; to hold together. "Why every thing adheres together, that no drachm of a scruple." Shak. To be devoted; to hold; to remain firmly fixed to a party, person, or opinion.
