The name of a carnivorous plantigrade quadruped {Gulo arctic us); also applied by some micrographers to a diaphanous species of nai*. GLYCERl. NE. (Yunanca köken — orijinale bakınız.) A sweet substance formed in the proce of saponification. It was originally observed in the formation of common plaster by boiling od with oxide of lead and water. GLYCY'ltUHIZlM. The peculiar saccharine matter of the root of Glycyrrhiia glabra, or common liquorice. [s. 535]
