[Latin menth(a), and English ( alcoh ) ol.] Chem.: C10H20O. Ment hylic alcohol; camphor of peppermint. A crystalline substance deposited from oil of peppermint which has been kept for a long time. It forms small, white, fragrant, prismatic crystals. It is slightly soluble in water, easily in alcohol, ether and oils; insoluble in alkalies.
