[CYCAD.] to ex Bot .: The typical genus of the order Cycadacce (q. v.). A kind of sago is procured in Japan from Cycas revoluta and C. circinalis . Their nuts are catable, and a bad kind of flour is made from them, while a grain-like tragacanth which they produce is applied to malignant ulcers, causing them to suppurate very quickly.
