[Eng. lank; -y.] Lank. lăn-ner, s. [Fr. (Prov.) lanier; Ital. laniere, from Lat. laniarius =a butcher. Used specially of the female.] Ornith.: Falco ( Gennaia ) lanarius . The wings are two-thirds as long as the tail, the feet bluish; length one foot and a half. It was formerly imported into Europe from the East to be used for the pursuit of kites.
