a rare form of Lupus erythema to sus, characterized by a wider diffusion of the eruption, an extension by repeated outbreaks, and by the fact that the patches never coalesce. It is a chronic disease usually, but maybe acute. L. erythema to sus sebaceus, a form with special involvement of the sebaceous glands. L. erythema to sus telangiectodes, a variety characterized by marked dilatation of the cutaneous blood-ve els. L., Erythematous, lupus erythema to sus. L. exedens. Synonym of L. vulgar is. L. exfoliativus. See Lupus maculosus. L. exuberans, a form of lupus, usually Z. exulcerans, a ociated with papillary excrescences. L. exulcerans, a term used to distinguish that form in which the destruction of ti ue is rapid or intense, or in which the epidermis is lost and a secreting ulcerating surface is disclosed. L. frambcesiformis, L. frambcesioides. See Z. exuberans. L., Fungous. Synonym of Lupus exuberans. L. haemorrhagic us, Z. erythema to sus dis semi nat us a ociated with hemorrhagic vesicles and blebs that dry and form crusts. L. hypertrophic us, that variety in which new connective-ti ue formation predominates over the destructive proce , and markedly raised, thick patches result. L. idiopatbicus. Synonym of Z. vulgar is. L. impetiginosus, a form of Z. erythema to sus in its earlier stages resembling impetiginous eczema. L. lymphatic us. See Lymph angioma cir cum scrip tum. L. maculosus, a variety characterized by the eruption of very soft, smooth, brownish-red, semi-translucent miliary nodules, which develop in the connective ti ue of otherwise healthy skin without subjective sensations. This eruption constitutes the earliest sign of lupus. When the surface desquamates, the name Lupus exfoliativus is given to it. L. miliaris. See Z., Acne. L. mutilans, lupus exedens, causing destruction of ti ue and disfigurement. L.. Necrogenic, the anatomic tubercle. L. non-exedens, lupus without ulceration. L. papillar is, L. pap i'lomatosus, a form characterized by papillary growths may reach the size of the palm. These are most frequently seen on the extremities and buttocks, and occur only on ulcerated surfaces. L. perforans, lupus ulcerating through the skin into a mucous cavity, or through the septum between two mucous cavities. L. phagedaenic us, ulcerating lupus a ociated with phagedena. L. prominens.
