(-te-küs.) [Same der iv.] (Script.) A book of the Old Testament, called in the Septuagint The Wisdom of Jesus, the Son of Sirach. It is considered as canonical by the Roman Catholic Church, but is rejected as apocryphal by the Protestants. It exhibits but little regard for methodical arrangement, but it is highly poetical.
