Elohim

(e-lo'him.) [Heb.] (Script.) A term by which the Deity is spoken of in the Pent a teuch, sometimes in conjunction with the word Jehovah, at others substituted for the latter: - hence we have what have been called the Elohistic and Jehovistic pa ages. [s. 326]
