Fr., annul atées. 1, Of Hoffmann, an order of cryptogams including the genera Poly podium, Pteris, Asplenium, and Onoclea; i. e., the ferns provided with a ring (annulus). The term has been recently restricted by Bommer to those terns in which the sporangeium is completely surrounded by a ring. [B, 121, 170.] 2. See ANNELID A.
