Back-connection

In a marine boiler, or in the setting of an externally-fired return stationary boiler, the part of the flue-pa ages in which the smoke or hot gases pa upward from the combustion-chamber behind the grate or fire-box, in order to come forward through the tubes or flues in the water space to the front end of the boiler.
