Same as mongoos. moonish (mö'nish), a. [ moonja, moonjah (mön jä), n. [E. Ind., moon-knife (mön'nif), п. A crescent-shaped knife used by leather-workers in shaving off the coarse fleshy parts of skins. It is sharpened on the convex edge.
