bead plane (bedplan)

A form of plane used for cutting a bead. The cutting edge of the plane-iron is a semicircle with a diameter equal to the diameter of the required molding. bead-proof (bēd'pröf), a. 1. Of such a nature or quality that a crown of bubbles formed by bedesman.
