[Eng. neuropter; -al.] Pertaining or belonging to the Neuroptera (q. v.). neu-rop-ter-an, s. [Eng. neuropter; -an.] The same as NEUROPTER (q. v.). neu-rop'-ter-is, subst. [Pref. neuro-, and Greek pteris a fern.] Palæobot .: A genus of fo il ferns ranging from the Devonian to the Tria ic period, universally abundant in the Coal Measures. The midrib of the leaflets is evanescent, either not distinct or disappearing toward the apex. neu-rop-ter-oŭs, a. [Eng. neuropter; -ous.] The same as NEUROPTERAL (q. v.). neür-o-pür-pu-ric, a. [Pref. neuro-, and Eng. purpuric.] (See the etym. and compound.)
