A call by the sound the trumpet, as the a embly of trumpeters, reveille, of tattoo, etc. **T** rumpeter. — A soldier in a cavalry regiment, whose duty it is to re-pronounce or pa on the orders of the commanding officer; for which purpose certain recognized simple tunes have arbitrary meanings attached to them.
