Also, technical conditions exist in a stock when the price rises in consequence of enforced covering of short contracts (enforced buying by speculators who had sold stock which they did not po e ) or such conditions exist when the price falls in consequence of enforced selling of long stock (stock which had been purchased with the intention of selling at an advanced figure.) A technical market exists when prices as a whole are raised or lowered, as the case may be, by manipulation; also a technical market exists when an oversold condition compels covering of short contracts with a consequent rise in prices or when an overbought condition compels liquidation or sale of long * stocks with a consequent fall in prices. 515
