rech, v. [reached (recht), reaching.] To extend, stretch, thrust out; to deliver by stretching out a member, esp. the hand; to pa to another, hand over to attain or obtain by stretching forth the hand; to extend an action, effort, or influence to, penetrate to to extend to, stretch out as far as; to arrive get as far as; to attain to, gain. — v. To stretch out the hand to strain after something to be extended in dimension, time, action, influence, etc., so as to attain to or be equal with something, —n. Act of stretching or extending; extension; power of reaching; power of extending action, influence, etc.; extent of force or capacity; extent; stretch; expanse; application; influence; result; an extended portion of land or water; a stretch; an artifice to obtain an advantage; a fetch.
