(tu-ber-os‘it-e) [L. ét«bero's itas). A broad eminence situated ona bone. bicipital t., the tuberosity on the anterior inner surface of the neck of the radius, for the insertion of the tendon of the biceps muscle. coracoid t., the impre ion on the clavicle for the coracoid ligament. costal t., the impre ion on the clavicle for the attachment of the rhomboid ligament. cuboid t., an elevation on the external surface of the cuboid bone. deltoid t., an eminence on the outer side of the shaft of the humerus for the attachment of the deltoid muscle. t. of the femur, cither of two tuberosities (internal and external) above the condyles of the femur. gluteal t., an elevation on the upper part of the shaft of the femur for the attachment of the gluteus maximus muscle. greater t. of the humerus, a rough prominence below the outer part of the head of the humerus. To it are attached the supra spinous, infra spinous, and teres minor muscles. le er t. of Θ humerus, a tuberosity below the front of the head of the humerus, on which is inserted the subscapular is muscle. iliac t., an eminence on the outer surface of the ala of the ilium for the attachment of the posterior sacro-iliac ligament. t. of the ischium, a round knob projecting downward from the ischium. It forms the point of the ischium on which the body rests in sitting. malar t., the prominence of the malar bone. radial t., bidipital tuberosity. t. of the tibia, either of two tuberosities forming the sides of the head of the tibia.
