[Lat. nas us =the nose.] 1. Ichthy.: A genus of Acronuridæ. Twelve species are known from the tropical Indo-Pacific, none of them extending to the eastward of the Sandwich Islands. In their mode of life these fishes resemble the Acanth uri (q. v.). One of the most common species is Naseus unicorn is , which, when adult, attains a length of about twenty-two inches, and has a horn about two inches long. ( Günther ,) 2.
