[MINNOW.] měn-I-sper-mā-çě-æ, s. [Mod. Latin men is perm(um); Lat. fem. pl. adj. suff. -aceæ. ] Bot.: Men is per mads, an order of Diclinous Exogens, alliance Men is per males. It consists of sar menta ceo us shrubs, with alternate, generally entire leaves, reticulated and often palm i nerved. The ers small, in racemes, generally diœcio us; sepals in smaller than the sepals, six, or in a binary or single series; stamens as many as the petals or more numerous, distinct or monadelphous; ovules three or six; fruit, usually fleshy drupes, containing a single one-celled nut; seed one, enveloped in a membranaceous integument. Found climbing among trees in the tropics of Asia and America. The order is divided into six tribes: (1) Heteroclinese, (2) A nomos per mese, (3) Tiliocorese, (4) Lep to goneæ, with the sub-tribes Eleutharrhenese and Cis samp elideæ, (5) Platygonese, (6) Pachygonem.
