Galileans

(gal-e-lē'anz.) (Eccl. Hist.) An anc. Jewish sect, deriving its name from Judas the Gaulonite, who rebelled against the Romans at different times prior to the destruction of Jerusalem by Titus, 70 A. D.- The title has also been conferred on Jesus and his disciples (Matt. xxvi. 69). [s. 392]
