Form of division by which a cla or genus is divided into two species which are exhaustive of the cla ; e.g., man into Caucasians and non-Caucasians.-In Botany, forking; division of a vegetable axis into two at its summit.In Astronomy, aspect of a planet when half the illuminated disk is seen, as the moon at first and last quarter.
