[L. sex, six, + findere, pp. fi us, cleave, separate: see bite.] In bot., sixcleft: as, a sexfid calyx or nectary. sexfoil (seks'foil), n. [L. sex, six, + E. foil, Sexfoil.- Clearstory window of St. Leu d'E erent, France. etc., a figure of six lobes or foliations, similar in character to the cinquefoil. Also sisefoil (in heraldry).
