LOLLARDS

A body of primitive Wesley ans-, who a umed importance about the time of John Wycliffe, (1360,) and were very succe ful in di eminating evangelic.al truth; but, being implicated (apparently against their will) in the insurrection of the villeins in 1381, the statute De Hwretico Oomburendo (2 Hen. IV. c. 15) was pa ed against them, for their suppre ion. However, they were not suppre ed, and their representatives survive to the present day under various names and disguises. Brown.
