Mould (mold). I. A minute fungus or other vegetable growth of a low type appearing on moist and decaying bodies. 2. The matrix or prepared and shaped cavity in which anything is cast and receives its form. Anything that serves to regulate the size and form of bodies. Cast; form; shape. A fontanel or space occupied by a cartilaginous membrane in the skull of the fetus and of a newborn child, situated at the angles of the bones that form the skull.
