(loo-ko'mah.) (From Gr. leukos, white.] (Med.) A white opacity of the cornea, which is the result of acute inflammation, giving rise to the deposition of coagulable lymph on the surface, or between the layers of the cornea. It is sometimes re-absorbed on the ce ation of the inflammation, and the cornea recovers its transparency; but in many cases it is persistent and incurable. [s. 540]
