LYRE-BIRDS

(Menura), a genus of 3 large birds characterized by the peculiar lyre shape of the tail in the males. They form by themselves a family and order (Men uri formes) of birds. Lyrebirds live in the thick bush country of south-eastern Australia, where they feed upon insects.
