Hops, the dried fruits (strobiles) of Humulus lupulus, a climbing herb of central and northern Asia, Europe, and North America; tonic, sedative, and diuretic in doses of Si-2 (30.0-60.0) of an infusion of S§(i6.o) to the pint (480.0); a hop poultice is applied in cases of superficial inflammation.
