[Also marcel line; Mar cell i an (mär-sel'i-an), a. and n. [ II. n. One of the profe ed followers of Mar cell us, Bishop of Ancyra in the fourth century. The Mar cell i ans held the doctrine, nearly agreeing with that of the Sabellians, that the Holy Spirit and the Word, or Logos, are merely impersonal agencies and qualities of God, and that the incarnation of the Logos is temporary only. It has been doubted by some whether held the views ascribed to him.
