[Etym. unknown.] A non-phosphatic nitrogenous substance supposed to exist in the brain. kěr-as-ine, a. [Gr. keras =a horn.] Resembling horn in texture or appearance. kěr'-ąs-Ine, ker-as-īte, s. [Named by Beudant. Gr. keras horn; suff. -ite (Min.); Fr. plomb corné; Ger. hornblei .] Min.: The same as MENDIPITE and PHOSGENITE, the two minerals being included under the same name.
