(tip-pe-kah-noo',) in Indiana, a W.N.W. co.; area, 500 sq. m.; C. Lafayette. Pop. 33,515. - A river of same State, rising in Kosciusko co., and falling into the Wabash in above-named co., 9 m. N.E. of Lafayette, after a S.W. flow of 200 m. On the banks of this stream, Nov. 5, 1811, General Harrison's American force defeated the Indians under the brother of Tecumseh. [s. 898]
