[LYCOPOD I TES.] 2585 vertical, three pairs of spinnerets, legs usually terminated by three claws without any scopulæ or adhesive hairs. Many of the species frequent woods and dry commons; others, as Lycosa piratic a , are aquatic. Chief genera, Lycosa and Dolomedes.
