Chemin de Ronde

(sha'măn da rond.) [Fr.] (Fortif.) A way left between the head of the revetment of the escarpment and the parapet itself, serving to protect the garrison, while the latter may at the same time fire from it upon an enemy in the ditch below. [s. 172]
