A very contagious dis- ease, with inflammatory fever, catarrhal symptoms, and an eruption of red points grouped in circles or crescents,— often fatal, or leaves dreaded sequelae; rubeola. A disease of swine. [ME. maseles, D. maselen, measles, mase, OHG. masa, a spot, mark of a wound: mazer; not ME. and OF. mesel, a leper.] — Mea's ly, -zlT, a. Infected with measles or eruptions.
