Smith, Goldwin

born in 1823, came to America from England in 1868, and settled in Canada in 1871. He had been a prominent champion of the U. S. Government during the*Civil War. He has advocated the annexation of Canada to the United States. He has written ‘‘ The Civil War in America,”’ ‘‘ Experience of the American Commonwealth," and ‘‘ The United States, an Outline of Political History ’’ (1893).
