Ct., 1716-1757. A Presbyterian clergyman who was president of Princeton College. He married a daughter of Jonathan Edwards, infra, and his son was the noted politician of the same name. His Latin Grammar was long in use at Princeton as “the Newark Grammar.” His only other work was The Supreme Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
