Band

band, n. That with which a thing is bound or fastened. {Arch.) A flat, low molding; a continuous tablet or series of ornaments: the molding which encircles Gothic pillars and small shafts. See Molding. Means of union between persons; a linen neck ornament worn by clergymen; a company united in design, esp. a body of armed men, or of musicians. — v.t.
