Scion

si'un, re. A shoot or twig of a plant, esp. when cut for ingrafting in a stock; a descendant; heir. Scire-facias, si' re-fa ""sht-as, re. (Law.) A judicial writ, founded upon some record, and requiring the party proceeded against to show cause why the party bringing it should not have advantage of such at record, or why the record should not be annulled.
