Incinerated seawrack, an impure alkaline ma , consisting of impure sodium carbonate, sulphate, chloride, and iodide, and pota ium sulphate and chloride; formerly used largely in the manufacture of soap and gla , and now a source of iodine, though displaced to a great extent by barilla (q. v., 1st def.). 2.
