Ricordi prize opera “The Angelus’ (Covent Garden, 1909); cantata ‘‘Arthur the King” (Harrogate, 1902), church music, etc. Ned’bal, Oscar, Tabor, Bohemia, March 25, 1874—(suicide) Zagreb, Dec. 24, 1930; via.-player in the “Bohemian” string-quartet; studied Prague Cons. (comp. with Dvorak); he was dir. Bohemian Phil., Prague 1896-1906; thereafter cond.
