Yeomanry

Cavalry was instituted during the wars of the French Revolution, when it included infantry, but all the infantry were disbanded after the peace of 1814—to reappear in after years as volunteers. Unlike the volunteers, the yeomanry can be called out at any time to aid the civil magistrates and when serving, they are treated as regulars.
