Dyspnea

(disp-ne'-ah). Difficult or labored breathing, arising from various causes, as laryngeal or tracheal obstruction, heart-disease, kidney-disease, lung-disease, or anemia. It may be either inspiratory or expiratory, according as it is mainly dependent upon the muscles of inspiration or expiration; or it may be general, that is, both inspiratory and expiratory.
