(kar-ung’ku-lah), pl. carun’cula. Latin for caruncle. c. hymen a’‘les. See c. myrtiformes. c. mammilla’ris, the tuber olfactorium; the gray ma from which the middle root of [the olfactory nerve arises. Ο. myrtifor’mes, small elevations surrounding the vaginal orifice, sup- to be relics of the ruptured hymen. c. saliva’ris, c. sub lingua’lis, a little eminence on each side of the frenum of the tongue, at the apex of which is the opening of the duct of the sublingual gland.
