(1774-1852), led the attacking party at Queens town Heights in 1812. He represented New York in the U.S. Congre as a Federalist from 1819 to 1822, Van Ren elaer, Stephen (1765-1839), was a member of the New York Senate from 1791 to 1795, and Lieutenant-Governor from 1795 to 1801. He served in the New York A embly from 1808 to 1810. He ‘was appointed commander of the forces on the northern frontier in 1812, and fought the battle 4f Queens town Heights. He was acanal commi ioner from 1816 to 1839. He represented New York in the U. S. Congre as a supporter of Adams from 1822 to 1829. He founded the Ren elaer Polytechnic Institute at Troy.
