Fluvial, Fluviatic

[Lat. fluvial is, fluviatic us, from fluvius, a river, from fluere, to flow. Belonging to rivers; growing or living in streams or ponds; as, fluviatic plants, Auvial deposits. Fluviales, n . pl . ( Bot . ) Same as NAIADACEE, q. v. Flu'via list, n. A person who undertakes to explain the geographical or geological phenomena of a region or country by the action of existing streams.
