MORPHEA

(Lat.). n. f. Morf-e(a)'a3. Fr., morphee. An ancient name for an ill-determined disease of the skin, characterized, according to Para cels us, by its attacking the face and by the formation of groups of maculae, at first red. then blue or black also by swelling, bullae, protuberances, vesicles, and suppuration.
