[Gr. kteis, gen it. ktenos =a comb, and stomata, pl. of stoma =mouth.] [CTENOSTOMA.] Zoöl.: A sub-order of marine Polyzoa, order Gymnolæmat a. It consists of animals in which the cells arise from a common tube, and the closure of the mouths, which are terminal, is effected by means of a fringe of hairs, from which the name of the order is derived.
