uralitic (uralitik)

[ tion. uralitization (ū-ra-lit-i-zā'shon), n. The paramorphic change of augite to hornblende. See uralite. This form of metamorphism is of very common occurrence, especially among the diabases, some varieties of which rock are, for this reason, called uralite - diabase; the same is true also of the porphyries and porphyrites, giving rise to the name uralite - porphyry and uralite - por phyrite.
