'LARY, n. [Lat. fri till us, a che board; alluding to the checkered petals.) ( Bot.) A genus of plants, order Liliacca. They are perennial plants, perianth campanulate, with a broad base and nectariferous cavity above the claw of each segment! stamens as long as the petals.
