C.H;NHe, an organic base formed by the substitu 244 ETHYLENE tion of 1 atom of hydrogen in ammonia by ethyl group. Thus ws H 3 a! C2H; N—H ammonia —5 N—H Se SE ethylamine. It has the odour and many of the characteristic reactions of ammonia, but unlike ammonia it is inflammable and liquid at ordinary temperature.
