Pileated woodpecker; beautiful, large, and rare bird of Southern forests. The color of male is black, with white streak on neck, crest scarlet. Length 18 inches. Loggia. Arcade inclosing an open room or pa age; common in Italy. It is a favorite cla of building in warm countries.
